Why Hire Code College Graduates?

Our graduates complete intensive, hands-on coding bootcamps in Full-Stack Web Development, Java, and Python. They are trained on real-world projects, follow best coding practices, and are ready to join your team from day one.

We cover 3 stacks in our 12-month Java Bootcamp:

After completion, our students can switch to a different skill set very quickly. We have placed many of them in different stacks — they can quickly adapt to popular stacks like PHP / Laravel, .NET, Python and others and be productive quickly with a supportive team.

Questions from Employers

How long before a graduate becomes productive? +

Our full-stack developer graduates typically become productive within 2–4 weeks of joining a team. They’ve completed real-world projects during their bootcamp and are trained in agile methodologies, pair programming, and collaborative development.

What salary should I expect to pay? +

Code College graduates typically expect entry-level developer salaries ranging from R15,000 to R25,000 per month, depending on the specific tech stack and location. This represents excellent value compared to senior developers while providing eager, well-trained talent.

What technical skills do graduates have on day one? +

Graduates are proficient in HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB (MERN stack), or Java Spring Framework with React. They also have experience with Git, REST APIs, responsive design, database management, and debugging tools, and have completed multiple full-stack applications.

How do I know if a graduate is job-ready? +

Code College graduates build portfolio projects, develop soft skills, and complete competency assessments. You can review their GitHub profiles and portfolio projects, and we provide detailed progress reports on both soft skills and technical capabilities.

Can graduates work remotely? +

Our graduates are trained in remote collaboration tools, daily stand-ups, and async communication. While based primarily in South Africa, they’re equipped for remote work, hybrid arrangements, or full-time office positions across Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, and internationally.

Can they work in PHP Laravel if they studied MERN? +

Yes! Our curriculum emphasises programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills. Graduates who completed our MERN stack or Java bootcamp have successfully transitioned to PHP/Laravel, Python/Django, .NET, and other frameworks within their first month of employment.

How do bootcamp graduates compare to CS degree holders? +

Bootcamp graduates offer practical, job-ready skills with 800+ hours of hands-on coding experience. While CS graduates have stronger theoretical foundations, our graduates excel in practical application, modern frameworks, and can start contributing immediately. Many companies find bootcamp graduates more prepared for actual development work.

Do they require extensive training and mentorship? +

While some mentorship is beneficial, our graduates require significantly less hand-holding than typical juniors. They’re trained in self-directed learning, debugging, documentation reading, and seeking help appropriately. Most employers report needing only standard onboarding for company-specific processes.

How quickly can you provide pre-screened candidates? +

We have graduates completing our programme quarterly. For urgent needs, we can provide pre-screened candidates from our recent graduate pool within 48 hours. For specific technical requirements, we can align upcoming graduate skills with your needs given 4–6 weeks notice.

What is the ISA and how does it affect quality? +

A large percentage of our students study through Income Share Agreements (ISA), meaning they only pay tuition once employed. This creates highly motivated graduates who are serious about their careers. For employers, this means you’re hiring candidates who have proven their commitment and ability to complete an intensive programme.
