Code College offers three ways to fund your studies — student loans through our partner Student Hero, Income Share Agreements where you only pay once you’re employed, or an interest-free instalment plan paid directly to Code College. Student loans and ISA are for SA residents only; the instalment plan is open to all students.
We know that paying for studies can be tough. That’s why Code College has partnered with Student Hero — South Africa’s biggest student finance support service. Student Hero helps students learn about, apply for, and compare loan options from top banks and other funders — all in one place, and it’s completely free.
A student loan helps you cover your tuition and study-related expenses so you can focus on learning. You can repay your loan gradually after completing your course — often only once you start working.

Student Hero compares offers from major banks and lenders so you get the best deal.
Once your loan is approved, payment is made directly to Code College on your behalf.

Three financing routes are available — a traditional student loan through Student Hero, an Income Share Agreement, or an interest-free instalment plan paid directly to Code College.
⚠️ If your payment schedule extends past your course end date, progress certificates are only issued once the full fee is settled. Code College reserves the right to suspend training if payments fall behind.
With an ISA you don’t pay upfront or during your studies. You start repaying only once you’re employed — and only while you’re earning.
With an Income Share Agreement, you study completely free. Once you’re employed, you repay between 10–25% of your income on a sliding scale — and only while you’re employed. If you lose your job, payments pause.
If you don’t have access to the following, you may still apply, but it could delay your start date as we have limited hardware sponsors:

Student Hero helps students compare loan options from top banks and private funders in South Africa — all in one place, completely free.
An Income Share Agreement is a flexible financing option where you don’t pay upfront or during your studies. Instead, you start repaying once you’re employed, paying 10–25% of your income on a sliding scale. With Code College, ISAs start at R75,000 for our 6-month bootcamp or R150,000 for the 12-month bootcamp. This is ideal for fresh matriculants and tertiary graduates who are currently unemployed. The ISA is completely free to apply for and removes financial barriers to learning to code.
Loan approvals can take anywhere from 2 to 7 business days, depending on the lender and documentation provided.
Yes! If you have above-average academic results and pass our aptitude test, you can qualify for an Income Share Agreement and study for free. We also accept your matric 3rd term interim results for our January intake. Alternatively, you can explore traditional student loans through Student Hero, which connects you with top banks and other funders — all for free.
Our Income Share Agreement is a great alternative, especially if you’re unemployed and recently graduated. With an ISA, there are no credit checks or upfront payments — you only repay once you’re employed. Apply now and one of our representatives will contact you to discuss whether the ISA is the right option for your situation.
Some funding partners require a guarantor, but others offer loans without one, especially for employed students or those with existing income. Student Hero will help you find the best option for your situation.
No, Student Hero is not a bank. It’s a free platform that connects students with trusted funders and banks in South Africa.
Code College offers an interest-free instalment plan where you pay only the full course fee, divided into equal monthly payments — with zero interest added. Payments are made directly to Code College (not via Student Hero or any bank) by debit order or EFT, over the duration of your course up to a maximum of 12 months. For example, the Java Bootcamp at R120,000 over 12 months comes to R10,000/month. There are no credit checks — this option is available to all enrolled students.
Please note: if your payment schedule extends beyond your course completion date, progress certificates are only issued once the full course fee has been settled. Code College reserves the right to suspend training if a student falls behind on payments.
