A full year of real Python — the same language used for data science, AI and web development — taught one step at a time in 1-hour lessons. No drag-and-drop blocks: from a first "Hello World" through variables, lists, decisions, functions and object-oriented programming, finishing with a playable 2D game your child builds themselves in Pygame.
Four 10-hour modules — real code, real logic, real projects — from a first "Hello World" through to a game your child builds and can show off.
The first ten lessons — real Python from a first "Hello World" through variables, lists, if/else decisions and dictionaries, finishing with a small module project.
Interactive programs with while loops, reusable functions, a first taste of object-oriented programming with classes, and saving/loading data with files — finishing with a small app.
Ten lessons building one project start to finish: your child's own Space Adventure Game in Pygame — a real, playable 2D game they can show off.
An elective module turning real-world data into charts, and pulling live data from a public API — a first taste of data science.
Python for Kids isn't a separate level of its own — it's the dedicated Python thread that runs through both Explorer Coders and Pioneer Coders.
No hardware or robotics here. Robotics is covered separately — BBC micro:bit in Explorer Coders, and Arduino / Raspberry Pi in Pioneer Coders — and can be taken alongside or after this course.
No coding experience needed — for most learners this is their first real programming language, introduced one step at a time through projects.
Already started Explorer Coders and want to go deeper into Python specifically, beyond the core curriculum.
Kids who dream of making their own video games — this course ends with a real, playable 2D game they built themselves.
A solid foundation in classes and object-oriented programming before stepping up to Pioneer's advanced Python work.
Small classes led by trained instructors experienced in teaching real code to young learners.
Real-time, face-to-face sessions via video call — not pre-recorded videos.
Private sessions, vetted instructors, and parents always welcome to sit in.
A progress report after each term, and a certificate on completion of the full course.
It's spread across a full school year — four 10-lesson terms of one hour a week, the same pace as our other Coding for Kids levels. There's no rush; the hours build up a term at a time, and each term stands on its own.
No — this course starts from zero, the same entry point as Explorer Coders. Younger first-timers (10–13) start at the beginning at a gentler pace; older first-timers (up to 17) typically move through the early terms a little faster.
Building a real game is one of the most motivating ways to learn to code, and it puts everything from the earlier terms to use at once. It's also the first step toward our Python Gaming Engine course for kids who want to keep building games afterward.
It's the dedicated Python pathway that runs through both. It satisfies Explorer Coders' Python for Kids requirement and Pioneer Coders' Advanced Python with OOP requirement, so it fits whether your child is currently in Explorer, moving into Pioneer, or just wants to focus on Python on its own.
